Lock grades
Grade 1 on the outside doors
The American National Standards Institute rates door locks in three grades. Grade 1 is the toughest, built for heavy use and resistance to forced entry. Grade 2 suits most residential exterior doors. Grade 3 is the light-duty end, fine for interior doors.
For the front door and the door from the garage into the house, a Grade 1 deadbolt is the sensible choice. Electronic and keypad locks come in the same grades, so you don't have to trade strength for convenience.
